about

Hunkered down, home bound, crafting life and song and happiness. Like a 20 block game of catch, my friend Ed and I, throw this little tune back and forth through the digital sky.
About half done writing the new album. Here's a cracker on a plate with a wedge of cheese on top before the full meal lands.

lyrics

Songs of Life Spring 2020

The wind came up in the evening and blew through the night
The pigeon hawk lay low, well out of sight
I saw the moon take shelter then I saw it reappear
Ah the drum in the forest beat the drum in my ear
I saw Orion expire, I knew somewhere a star was born
There are fires that burn heretofore unknown
I was waiting for the day but you drew the night
The dog was barking at the racoon spoiling for a fight

You come down here often and play on my guitar
With charcoal on your breath
But me, I'm singing songs of life
I'm not thinking about death

She had a plush red velvet settee in her living room
A record player played Simone, it spun Nina's Blues
I played along on the piano, I thought I played a pretty good tune
You can dance with the ones that brung you right out of the womb

Now the evening sounds a b-minor, I chime in from below
Swallows dance across the river, the dance is to and fro
Lorca lifts up his rifle and lets loose a poem
The enemy falls silent, he pauses to reload

You come down here often and play on my guitar
With charcoal on your breath
But me I'm singing songs of life
I'm not thinking about death
